Get your house tested for radon annually just to be on the safe side.
Radon testing is important because:
- Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer.
- You can’t see or smell radon, so testing is the only way to know your level of exposure.
- All homes should be tested for radon.
- Testing can be done by a professional or using a do-it-yourself radon test kit.
- If your radon level is at or above 4 pCi/L of air, consider installing a radon reduction system.
- 48-hour test with professional and calibrated monitors.
